Impulse Current Test system with the so far highest stored energy was recently delivered to the Japanese Surge Protection Device Manufacturer SHODEN Corporation for their R&D efforts. Surge Protection Devices give homes protection from high-energy, high voltage transient surges that can damage the sensitive electronic circuits in computers, audio and video components, and electronic appliances. With a maximum charging voltage of 200 kV and a total stored energy 360 kJ, the current impulse generator can generate wave shapes 8/20 μs up to 200 kA and 10/350 μs, acc. IEC 61643, up to 150 kA with load 50 mOhm.

Recently our Frequency Response Analyser 5310 became an award from a consortium of the national polish transmission company Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne for being one of the most innovative products of 2006. The Sweep Frequency Response Analyser FRA 5310 detects transformer winding movements and mechanical failures due to mechanical shock, transportation or short circuits. The system records the transformers “frequency response fingerprint”. Even small winding movements or distortions will cause legible change of transfer curve, which can be detected.
